The following category descriptions will help you find what you are looking for in group fitness. Some categories are combined into a single class. Our knowledgeable, friendly and energetic staff will each bring their own flair. Go ahead…try multiple classes or pick the ones that work best with your schedule.
Cardio: These are designed for beginners and pros alike…they’ll get your heart rate up!
Step: A style of cardio that includes moves done on, over and around step benches. Try not to worry if you don’t know the moves…we have all been there and welcome newcomers.
Kick:A style of cardio that includes many moves involved in kickboxing. Very fun and easy to pick up.
Tone: A lower heart rate class designed to build and tone muscle using body weight resistance and hand weights that are just right for you.
Tabata: A Tabata workout is, at its simplest, a 4-minute workout (not including a warm up and a cool down) that includes 20 seconds of very high intensity or anaerobic training followed by 10 seconds of rest. You repeat this cycle 8 times for a total of 4 minutes for a very short, very intense workout. The difference between Tabata training and other interval workouts is the sheer intensity. Because the rest intervals are shorter than the work sets,the intensity builds as oxygen debt rises, leaving you a wrung-out mess! Are you ready to take it up a notch?
Silver&Fit®: Silver&Fit Experience is for moderately active older adults who exercise in some way one to two days per week. The class is designed to increase the participant’s flexibility, joint stability, dynamic balance, coordination, agility, reaction-time, muscular strength, and cardiovascular endurance. Yoga: If you want to improve your flexibility and learn how to relax while working out, then this is the class for you.
Pi/Yo: This class combines Pilates and Yoga for a full body work out that will increase your flexibility, tone your muscles and lower stress.
Zumba: Are you ready to shake yo’ thang? This latin based workout is highly choreographed and lots of fun. You might even become a better dancer!
Pound: POUND IS THE WORLD’S FIRST CARDIO JAM SESSION INSPIRED BY THE INFECTIOUS, ENERGIZING AND SWEAT-DRIPPING FUN OF PLAYING THE DRUMS.
Fit Ball: You will be amazed at how much you can do on a ball. The focus is on the core but your whole body will be challenged as well.
Circuit: This is a group class oriented around stations. Everybody will be challenged at the same time…just on different exercises.
Total Body Conditioning: Looking to get the most calorie burn out of your workout? It may be the best way to achieve your goal. Expect a workout focused on both weight training and cardio mixed together.
Body Sculpt: Alignment based total body training designed to build and define muscle using restorative, functional movements.
